  • .75oz Cranberry Juice
  • .5oz Sour Mix
  • .25oz Mango Puree

  • 1.5oz Vodka
  • .75oz Coconut Rum
  • .75oz Pineapple Juice
  • .5oz Lime Juice
  • .5oz Green Apple Syrup

Instructions

Add ingredients to shaker tin with ice. Shake and strain into martini glass. (Optional -- Add shimmer to shaker for glittery effect)

Episode 243: The Running Man (2025) & The Rum Runner

This week on the game is on and the stakes are life-or-death as we dive into the chilling 2025 reimagining of Stephen King's dystopian nightmare, The Running Man! We'll follow Ben Richards (played by Glen Powell), a desperate man running for his life across the country, hunted by assassins and a public addicted to the most brutal reality show on television. We'll discuss director Edgar Wright's faithful, yet modern, take on the novel, the chilling social commentary on media and class, and how Richards must outrun and outwit an entire surveillance state for a billion-dollar prize.

Episode 242: Predator & Predator's Blood

This week on we're heading deep into the Central American jungle where everything is trying to kill you—especially the invisible hunter—in the 1987 action-horror classic, Predator! We'll talk about Arnold Schwarzenegger's iconic role as Dutch, the unbeatable special forces team, and the introduction of one of cinema's most terrifying alien creatures. Get ready for some major firepower, cheesy one-liners, and that unforgettable thermal vision!


And to help us see through the jungle heat, we're mixing up the signature cocktail, Predator's Blood, as created by Spirit Cocktails on YouTube. This drink is designed to mimic the creature's eerie glowing green blood!

  • .5oz Jagermeister
  • .5oz 151 Rum
  • .5oz Blue Curacao
  • 2oz Pineapple Juice
  • 2oz Green Energy Drink

Instructions

Add ingredients exxcept for energy drink to shaker. Shake with ice and strain into ice filled rocks glass. Add energy drink and lightly stir to combine. 

Episode 241: Rebel Without A Cause & the Jimmie Dean

This week on "Drink the Movies," we're diving into the restless angst of the 1955 classic, Rebel Without a Cause! We’ll talk about the magnetic and tragic James Dean as Jim Stark, the red jacket that became an icon, and how this film perfectly captured the raw, misunderstood energy of post-war American youth.   •  1.5oz Johnnie Walker Blue
  • .25oz Johnnie Walker 18
  • .75oz Lillet Blanc
  • 2 Dashes Pear Oak Bitters

Rosemary, Spruce, Hickory for smoking.

Instructions

 

Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain over large ice cube. Use smoking ingredients to add smoke if desired.

Episode 240: The Blair Witch Project & the Black Eyed Stickman

This week we're grabbing our video cameras and heading into the woods of Burkittsville for the groundbreaking found-footage horror film, The Blair Witch Project! 


We'll talk about how this low-budget 1999 chiller terrified a generation, the genius of its minimalist marketing, and the sheer, raw panic of watching three film students slowly lose their grip in the face of an unseen terror. Get ready for close-ups, snot, and terrifying sounds in the dark.


And to steady our nerves before that infamous ending, we're mixing up The Black Eyed Stickman, a chilling cocktail riff from our friends at Geeks Who Eat! This drink features a potent blend of Vodka and Bourbon shaken with Lemon Juice, St. Germain, and a dash of Simple Syrup and bitters. It's a complex, boozy mix that's as disorienting as a night lost in the woods

Episode 239: Tron: Ares & the Grid Redbull & Vodka

This week we're running a system reboot and diving into the high-stakes, neon-drenched world of Tron: Ares! Episode 238: Hellraiser

This week on we're opening the Lament Configuration and stepping into a world of pain and pleasure with Clive Barker's iconic 1987 horror film, Hellraiser! We'll explore the dark and disturbing story of Frank Cotton, the cenobites led by the unforgettable Pinhead, and the truly unique blend of body horror and forbidden desires that makes this movie a true original. We'll discuss how pain and pleasure become indistinguishable and why this film remains a terrifying benchmark in the genre.


And to properly summon the experience, we're mixing up a cocktail we call The Hellraiser. This drink features a spine-tingling trio of botanical gin, the bittersweet sting of Aperol, and a surprising, seductive kick from pepper syrup. It's a complex, challenging, and unexpectedly delicious mix—a taste of what the cenobites might call "sweet suffering."   • .5oz Lime Juice
  • .5oz Pepper Syrup
  • Black Sugar for Rim

Instructions

Add ingredients to shaker tin with ice. Shake and strain into chilled coupe glass. (Pre-rim with black sugar if desired)  

Episode 237: The Thing & the J&B Rusty Nail

This week we're heading to the desolate, frozen landscape of Antarctica for John Carpenter's claustrophobic and paranoia-fueled 1982 masterpiece, The Thing! We'll be discussing the terrifying, shape-shifting alien, the incredible practical effects, and the nail-biting suspense as R.J. MacReady and his team try to figure out who—or what—among them is the impostor. Who can you trust when the threat is... well, anything?


And to keep us warm while we try to survive the night, we're mixing up a classic that cuts straight to the point: the Rusty Nail, featuring J&B Scotch Whisky. This smoky, sweet, and potent two-ingredient cocktail is a perfect match for a film that is as sharp and uncompromising as a blast of MacReady's flamethrower. Instructions

Combine rum, cherry liqueur, lime, cinnamon syrup, and bitters into shaker tim with ice. Shake and strain into highball glass with ice. Add ginger beer.

This week we're turning the volume up to eleven for the 1984 mockumentary masterpiece, This Is Spinal Tap! We'll follow England's loudest and most punctual band on their disastrous American tour, from the Stonehenge debacle to the classic "these go to eleven" moment. We'll laugh at the film's hilarious improvised dialogue and celebrate its enduring legacy as one of the greatest comedies ever made.


And to get us in the proper rock and roll spirit, we're pouring a no-fuss, no-frills Jack & Coke. This timeless two-ingredient drink is a perfect fit for a band whose musical genius is only rivaled by their sheer cluelessness. Episode 234: BlacKKKlansman & the Rum & Coke

This week we're heading to the convent with the one and only Whoopi Goldberg in the 1992 classic, Sister Act! We'll talk about Deloris Van Cartier's journey from Reno lounge singer to a tuneful Sister Mary Clarence, the iconic musical numbers, and the pure joy this movie brings.


And we'll be mixing up a Purple Mink Delores. This drink features the gorgeous purple Empress Gin, a squeeze of fresh lemon, and a touch of simple syrup. It's a heavenly mix of sweet, tart, and floral that's as divine as Sister Mary Clarence's choir.
