Episode 201: Mary Poppins & Rum Punch

When Mr. & Mrs. Banks needs some help taking care of their children, Mary Poppins will fly in on her magical umbrella and teach the children...and Mr. Banks....the true meaning of family.

This week we are mixing up a rum punch to help the medicine go down and chatting one of the most classic of Disney films.

Join us for rum, chimney sweeps, horse races, singing, and a chat about Mary Poppins!

• 1.25oz Light Rum
• 1.25oz Dark Rum
• 2oz Pineapple Juice
• 1oz Orange Juice
• .75oz Lime Juice
• .5oz Grenadine
• Maraschino Cherries for garnish

Add ingredients to shaker tin with ice. Shake and strain into hurricane or pint glass with fresh ice. Garnish with cherries.   

This week for our 200th episode we are taking a look at one of the most historically important films of them all, 1922's Nosferatu and seeing how 102 years of influence shaped the 2024 version.

•  2oz London Dry Gin 
• .75oz Lillet Blanc
• .25oz Creme de Violette
• Pomegranate Arils

Add ingredients to shaker with ice. Shake or stir then strain into chilled coupe class. Add pomegranate arils  

When Derek Zoolander is threatened by the new and so hot right now male model Hansel, will he retire? Go back to his roots? Assasinate the prime minister? Or help some kids who can't read good? 

This week we head to the runway and mix up an orange mocha frappucino to discuss one of the early 2000's comedy classics Zoolander!

Cocktail inspired by Corner Coffee Store!

• 2 Cups Coffee ice cubes and Kahlua/Coffee Liqueur
• .5 cups chocolate chips
• Juice from half an orange or 1.5oz Triple Sec
• 1 tbsp Chocolate syrup
• .75 Cup Milk/Chocolate milk
• .25 Cup Half & half
• Top with whipped cream

Add all ingredients into blender. Blend until desired consistency. Top with whipped cream and orange zest.

• 6oz Blackberry Syrup*
• 1 Bottle of champagne
• 4oz Gin
• 4 Sprigs of thyme
•  Sugar for the rim (Optional)

Add 1.5oz Blackberry syrup and 1oz Gin to a champagne flute. Then top with Champagne. Garnish with Thyme and Blackberries. Rim glass with colored sugar if desired.

*To make syrup add .5 cups blackberries to 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar is a saucepan. Heat to dissolve then steep blackberries for 30 minutes. Strain, cool, and store in refrigerator until ready to use.

 Combine juice and sparkling wine in champagne flute. Garnish with arils or cranberries.

• 2oz Bourbon
• 1oz Ginger Syrup
• 2.5oz Pomegranate Juice
• .5oz Lemon Juice
• Ginger Beer
• Mint & Pomegranate Arils

Combine Bourbon, Syrup, Pomegranate, and Lemon Juice in shaker with ice. Shake and strain into ice filled rocks glass. Top with Ginger Beer and garnish with Mint & Pomegranate Arils

*Ginger Syrup - Dissolve equal Parts Sugar and Water. Roughly chop ginger and allow to steep in simple syrup as long as desired for ginger intensity. Strain and bottle, store in refrigerator.

• .75oz Ghost Pepper Reduction/Hot Sauce
• 1oz Lemon Juice
• .5oz Amaro Averna
• Garnish with Toasted Marshmallow

Shake Jack Daniels, Ghost Pepper, and Lemon Juice with Ice. Strain into glass. Float Amaro on top and garnish with Marshmallow.
